Spring is all about hoping and planning and waiting. Days like today make me feel like summer is close. So so close.
But I know the rain will come back, and my hope will falter. Then one day, summer will be here. And summer is always worth the wait.
Also my garden will be full of yummy food.

I’ve admired Milt Kobayashi’s work before. This painting is one he did as a demo at the Scottsdale Artists’ School. Click on the picture and you can see the painting super-zoomed-in. Check out the fat white paint on her shoulder, and the thin brushy underpainting of her hair.
