dead end trail

A few days ago a friend and I went hiking on Mount Seymour. It should have been a nice, 4 hour hike.

What I wasn’t prepared for:

• snow. lots of it.
• getting lost.
• seeing bear tracks that didn’t look that old.
• falling in a creek.
• being cold, wet, lost and freaked out about bears all at once.

We eventually made our way back to where we’d made a wrong turn. Somehow we hadn’t seen the tiny trail sign that was hiding behind an enormous tree, and had ended up on an un-mapped trail called Dead End Trail.

This illustration makes me happier every time I see it.

In fact I may just need to buy the print so I can put the happiness up on my wall.
